Previous to working at JLL, he was founder and Managing Director of Creevy LLH. Chartered Surveyors.  He provides advice to the leisure and hospitality sector throughout Scotland and the North of England.  Alan is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a Member of the Royal Institution of Arbiters.

In the past 5 years Alan acted for M&B and Pub Enterprises / Star Pubs and Bars multiple premise owning landlords in rent review cases. In addition Alan has acted in an agency capacity for M&B, Star Bars, Trust Inns, Maclay Inns

Alan is a specialist in professional negligence work within the licensed leisure and hotel sector at High Court level and is a member of the UK wide RICS Presidents Panel of Experts.  His expertise is also apparent in the rent reviews of public houses, hotels, restaurants and leisure properties as a member of the RICS Chairman’s Panel of Arbitrators and Experts.

Peter Darroch is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a founding Director of CDLH Leisure & Hospitality Surveyors, having previously been a National Director of the Licensed Leisure & Hotels department at Jones Lang LaSalle.  Previous to working at JLL, he was a founding Director of Creevy LLH Chartered Surveyors.  He provides advice to the leisure and hospitality sector throughout Scotland and the north of England.


Throughout his career, Peter has undertaken valuations for various purposes, including loan security, private and corporate pre-purchase, insolvency and expert witness etc.  He has been directly involved in co-ordinating large group valuations as well as representing private & corporate clients and insolvency practitioners in the sale of leisure properties. He has also provided consultancy advice to banks, corporate and enterprise companies as well as expert witness advice over the valuation of public houses, hotels, restaurants and other licensed property.

Over the past five years Peter has acted on behalf of Punch Taverns, Star, Trust Inns and Hawthorn on public house disposals and lettings.

Peter has acted for private and corporate clients in rent review cases for public houses, restaurants, hotels and other licensed property.

Howard Day has extensive experience of licensed leisure property. At Davis Coffer Lyons he works on valuation and also landlord & tenant matters.

He had his own professional practice for 10 years during which time he acted for landlords and tenants of public houses and after that was Director – Leisure at Harper Dennis Hobbs where he continued to provide property advice to the leisure sector.

A lot of his work is as a dispute resolver, acting as Expert, Arbitrator or Mediator.

In the past 5 years Howard has acted for the premises owning landlords:- CapCo, Danfo, Peachtree Leisure, Ramco (Harlow) Limited, Scottish American and many small companies and individual property owners.

Over that time, Howard has acted for numerous individual tenants of public houses but has also advised tenant companies on rent reviews or lease renewals including Snug Bars and WWT.

At Davis Coffer Lyons, the rent review team acts for a lot of landlord companies who have public houses in their portfolio, especially in London.

This includes a number of companies who have purchased properties from PubCos on a sale and leaseback basis.

Dougie has over sixteen years’ experience within large pub companies located within the UK, with the responsibility of identifying appropriate investments and subsequent financial planning, he was also responsible for the completion of all rent events, lease renewals, rent reviews and new lets in line with the Industry Code of Practice.

Dougie has four years of experience being self-employed offering a full range of surveying advice to clients primarily within the licensed sector.

Daniel is a Chartered Surveyor, Honorary Secretary of the AVLP and Associate BII member with over 16 years of pub rent review experience.

He specialises in the valuation and rent reviews of public houses. Active across London, the South East and East Anglia he is also a RICS trained Independent Expert.

Daniel is very active in the market and provides advice to pub companies as well as tenants of those companies, including Ei Group, Wellington Pub Company, Star Pubs & Bars, Greene King, Youngs, Hall & Woodhouse and Punch Taverns.

He also advises major Institutions and landowners were the pub company is the tenant.

His current workload is split approximately 60% in favour of acting for tenants.
